Concerns have again been raised about the condition and security of the buildings; particularly since a number of youths had gained access to the premises. The incident, which had tied up a lot of Police manpower, was reported to the CAF meeting on the 9th October 2008.

Darlington based Leftbank Developments have been given a time extension at the recent planning committee meeting for the demolition of the former Bank Top Garage. Despite many objections , Councillors backed a compromise solution which grants the extension until October 2010 to allow the demolition to go ahead having heard that the inactivity on the vandal hit site was blamed on the credit crunch and the poor housing market.
